The SRBG (Société Royale Belge de Gemmologie) is a non for profit organisation founded in 1961 by a group of passionate gemmologists. Both its corporate headquarters and the school of gemmology are located in Brussels, offering several courses in French on a range of Gemmological subjects.

The centres teaching staff is composed of experienced SRBG and FEEG European Gemmologists, supported by guest lectures from gemmological experts working in the field. The number of students per year is limited to ensure personalised guidance for our students. .
Courses

Gemmology - Long Course
  • This is a one-day-a-week course over 2-years, with a minimum of 450 hours of theory and practice, for those wishing to pursue a career in gemmology. The syllabus covers an in-depth study of gemstones, including their identification, imitation and treatments.
  • Successful students are presented with an SRBG Gemmologist Diploma; an acknowledged diploma in Belgium, which fulfils the entry criteria of the FEEG Diploma, without attending supplementary courses.
Intensive Introduction to Gemmology
  • This course is a 5-day brief introduction to gemmology, for those seeking an introduction to the subject without pursuing a career in the field. The course combines theory and practice and is particularly devoted to the recognition of the main gemstones.
Gemmology - Intensive Course
  • This intensive course takes place over 2 x 6 week sessions, with a minimum of 450 hours of theory and practice, for those wishing to pursue a career in gemmology. The syllabus covers the same in-depth study of gemstones as the long course, including their identification, imitation and treatments.
  • Successful students are presented with an SRBG Gemmologist Diploma; an acknowledged diploma in Belgium, which fulfils the entry criteria of the FEEG Diploma, without attending supplementary courses.
Other
  • The SRBG also offers short courses on a variety of gemmology related topics, such as pearls and the history of jewellery, provided that there is a sufficient number of participants.
