Founded in 1929, the French Gemmological Laboratory (LFG) brings a renowned expertise on all gems (diamonds, coloured stones and pearls) to the players of the jewellery industry.
Tied with the French Union of Jewellery (UFBJOP) since 2011, the LFG offers scientific analytical services on gems, with their goal being to secure the consumer’s position in the trade of stones and pearls.
Answering the expectations of many professionals but also individuals, the LFG has been committed in developing an academic course. In partnership with the department of on-going training of the UFBJOP school of jewellery, the LFG offers courses based on rigorous educational methods. The teaching body consists of gemmologists from the LFG, professionals from the industry and highly skilled teachers.
The program in gemmology mixes short focused training modules on diamonds and coloured stones (1 to 7 days), and long term courses, during day time for a year or as evening classes for two years.
