After more than 45 years of experience, the Istituto Gemmologico Italiano has been obtained a prestigious position in the field of gemmological training and education. IGI promotes the knowledge and the diffusion of gemmology, organizing trainings for anyone who wants to join to the gemmological field.
The most effective way to achieve the complete gemmological education is the IGI Gemmological Diploma, which is composed of three IGI training courses:
Gemmological Analysis of coloured gems (330 hours)
- Analysis and Classification of Diamond Qualitative Features (150 hours)
- Pearls Analysis (32 hours)
The teaching staff of IGI is composed by high qualified professors and highly skilled gemmologists.
IGI is the only center in Italy where you can get your FEEG diploma. It is also a founder member of the Federation.
The Italian Gemmological Institute is a member of the World Jewellery Federation (CIBJO), the International Coloured Gemstone Association (ICA), the Ente Italiano di Normazione (UNI), and other important Italian associations, such as Confcommercio-Federpreziosi and Confindustria Federorafi.
IGI collaborates with various Italian universities and prestigious jewelry companies, creating a noble synergy between academia and business.
